Q: Who can attend and what is the registration process?
A: Only students in 7th and 8th grade from Washburne School.  Registration closes at noon on Thursday, 1/26.  Registration on the website is $25.  Walk-ins are welcome, but the price is $40 CASH at the door.

Q: When and where is drop off and pick up?
A: The Winter Bash will be held at Washburne School.  Start time is 6:30pm.  Please enter and check-in via the Washburne gymnasium located on Elm Street.  Students are expected to stay until 8pm and will be released via the same Washburne gymnasium doors. If you have any specific questions, please contact Becky Sanderson (beckysanderson@hotmail.com) or Anna Jaymont (ajaymont@gmail.com).

Q: What will there be to do?
A: The gym will be split in ½.  DJ Nook will lead an epic dance party on one side of the gym with games and a photo booth, while Basketball, Ping Pong and other games will be available on the other side. Crafts and quiet games will be available in the Burne Room for those that just want to chill. 25 Gift Card raffle prizes will be offered throughout the night along with other surprises!

Q: What’s the attire?
A: This is a casual event – we want kids to be comfortable and to have a fun time. This year’s party theme, selected by Washburne students is “Winter Sports” so if they are up for having fun with it, they can come dressed in their favorite winter sports jersey or ski outfit. If not, whatever they wore to school is fine too!

Q: Where will the event take place inside Washburne?
A: The Gymnasium, Washburne Cafeteria and the Burne Room (which is a quieter space) will all be accessible during the event.

Q: Will there be food?
A: Yes! There will be plenty to snack on as we’ve ordered loads of Costco Pizza, Chick-fil-A Nuggets, Hometown Hot Chocolate, Cookies & Brownies.

Q: What is the policy on cell phones and photos?
A: Cell phones and photos are allowed.

Q: Will there be chaperones?
A: Yes, there will be a combination of parents and some staff, but we would appreciate a few more! Here is the link to sign up.

Q: Will there be a code of conduct required?
A: Yes, while not a school-sponsored event, please remind your child to show respect to all students and volunteers. Parents will be contacted to pick up any child that is demonstrating inappropriate behavior.

Q: What if my child has allergies or needs some extra support?
A: Please reach out to us if you have questions or concerns about allergies or extra support for your child. All food items will be kept to the cafeteria. If your child needs extra support, please feel free to join them or sign up as a volunteer. We want every child to feel comfortable attending.

Q: Why should your student attend?
A: The PTO is thrilled to offer the first “dance” that our students have had an option to attend during their middle school years. It will be a memorable hour and a half to have fun with a ton of friends, feel a little awkward (it’s ok!), and make some awesome Junior High memories. We hope everyone can make it!

Any questions, contact Becky Sanderson or Anna Jaymont.
